Overview:

Health and Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring appropriate health and safety activities of the center in compliance with Head Start. In addition, the Health and Safety Coordinator must ensure that center-based staff understand how to effectively implement all health and nutrition protocol.

Duties:

  • The Health and Safety Director is responsible for ensuring that each child receives the necessary health screenings, center-based staff are familiar with appropriate health and safety protocol, work with a nutritionist to ensure that the program is in compliance with all nutritional components connecting to applicable regulatory agencies
  • Provides support to family service specialists, administrative assistants, EHS classroom staff, home visiting staff, and family advocate (Parent Involvement) staff regarding Health and Safety.
  • Coordinates efforts to link staff and families with appropriate resources.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all children maintain current medical files.
  • Ensure proper food allergy forms are completed and documented
  • Provides support and management assistance to Food Service and Maintenance staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in health-related field (Master’s and/or RN preferred)
  • 3+ years’ experience in health services field (early childhood program preferred)
  • Familiar with ChildPlus and general data entry

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
