Job Description

Seeking an Academy Director in order to lead the administrative and operational teams for their school building. Responsible for the coordination of staff schedules, enforcing New York State and local New York City policies/procedures relating to curriculum/instruction, discipline and safety. Coordinates and communicates staff training days and serves as the direct liaison between the school and the school board, when applicable.



  • Track the recruitment, enrollment and retention of students to maintain maximum program capacity
  • Ensure there is a qualified staff ratio formula in plan
  • Evaluate and manage teacher effectiveness
  • Ensure all files for children and staff are updated and organized
  • Ensure all center logs are completed and kept securely for inspections
  • Ensure all CACFP Paperwork is completed and sent to the appropriate department in a timely manner
  • Ensure best practices operation and compliance are followed (ie. visitor logs, fire drill logs, health and safety checklists, incident reports)
  • Ensure that services are coordinated for children with disabilities
  • Managing building maintenance matters
  • Ensuring teachers have the resources needed to be successful



  • Valid NYS Teacher Certification for Birth to Grade 2 or Educational Management
  • 1+ years in a school leadership role
  • Knowledge of Article 47 and quality program regulations
  • Ability to interpret data (i.e. screeners, anecdotal records)
